Video Processing System Operation Policy September 15, 2023 (ver 4.0)


SEMES Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "SEMES") values the personal information of our customers and does our best to manage it in the most active and safe way.
SEMES values the protection of customers' personal video information very much, and in order to comply with relevant laws and regulations, such as 「the Personal Information Protection Act」, SEMES has established and complies with the 'SEMES Video Processing System Operation Policy’ (hereinafter referred to as 'this Policy').
This policy may be amended in accordance with the enactment or revision of laws, changes in government policies, and changes in SEMES' internal policies, and in the event of such revisions, it will be announced through the SEMES website (www.semes.com).
1. The grounds and the purpose for installation of video processing system
In accordance with Article 25.1 of the 「the Personal Information Protection Act」, SEMES installs and operates a fixed video information processing device for the following purposes.

- Facility safety and fire prevention
- Prevention of crime to protect the safety and property of customers and employees

※ Processing method: Records and manages matters related to requests such as non-purpose use of personal video information, provision to a third party, destruction, and viewing, and permanently deletes (shredding or incineration in the case of printouts) in a way that cannot be restored when the storage period expires.

6. How and where to check personal video information
If you need to check your personal video information, you can do so as follows.

□ How to check: Visit after contacting the person in charge of Administrative Officer and access authority officer in advance
□ Check place: CCTV control center at each business site

※ Documents required to check personal video information

Public institutions (corporations and investigative agencies) 1 copy of the official ID card (front/back), 1 copy of the court's warrant or official letter of cooperation with the investigative agency (must be stamped by the head of the agency)


※ Personal video information may be provided directly to investigative agencies as stipulated by other laws and regulations, when a warrant is issued by a court, or when it is necessary for the imminent life, body, or property interests of the information subject or a third party, and when requested to cooperate under 「the Criminal Procedure Act」 or 「the Police Officer Duty Enforcement Act」.
7. Measures for requests for viewing video information
If the user wishes to view, confirm, or delete the existence of personal video information, he or she may request the operator of the video processing system at any time.
However, it is limited to personal video information recorded by the person and personal video information that is clearly necessary for the immediate benefit of the user's life, body, or property.
Exceptionally, in the following cases, SEMES may refuse the request to view the requested personal video information or to confirm the existence or delete it, and in this case, we will notify you of the reason for the refusal in writing within 10 days.

    A. When the personal video information is destroyed due to the expiration of the retention period
    B. When there is a legitimate reason to refuse your viewing, etc.
8. Measures to ensure the safety of video information
SEMES takes the following administrative, technical, and physical protection measures to protect personal video information.

9. Notification of change in policy
This policy was enacted on October 31, 2019, and if there is any addition, deletion, or modification of content due to the enactment or revision of laws, changes in government policies, changes in SEMES' internal policies, or changes in security technology, we will notify the reason for the change and contents in advance through the website (www.semes.com) at least 7 days in advance.
